I am a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research examines the intersection of the criminal legal system and social stratification. I draw on quantitative methods to examine causes and consequences of criminal legal contact and disparities in criminal case processing.
My dissertation focuses on criminal justice contact, economic mobility, and labor markets. I estimate the causal effects of jail incarceration on earnings and, separately, criminal legal contact on occupational characteristics and mobility using advanced econometric methods.
My work has been published in the American Journal of Sociology and Social Science Research.
I hold an MS in Sociology from UW-Madison and bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Economics from the University of Georgia.
